Professor Steven G. Louie has been awarded the 2025 Mildred Dresselhaus Prize in Nanoscience and Nanomaterials, jointly with Professor Marvin L. Cohen, by the American Physical Society “for developing theoretical and calculational methods able to predict and explain electronic, optical, magnetic, and topological properties of nanomaterials.”

Awarded in memory of Mildred Dresselhaus, the Prize recognizes outstanding scientists in the areas of nanoscience or nanomaterials. Prof. Louie received the honor at the APS 2025 Global Physics Summit, and delivered an invited talk. Congratulations!

In February 2025, Dr. Jiawei Ruan, a former member of Louie’s group, started his research group at the Department of Physics, Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo.
